A Day Out With Thomas

Last week we took the family to Santa Cruz to see Thomas the Train. When we got there on Thursday we spent the day at the Boardwalk and rode rides. It was great and the kids loved it. We stayed in the Best Western in Scotts Valley which is only about 5 miles from where Thomas was. The train ride was nice and the kids had a good time. Lillian really did well being dragged around every where without much of a nap. Tiring, but I'd love to do it again.

After the kids went to bed and did my thing. I went to Rite Aid first. You will need to sign up online for their single check rebates and you will get a lot of stuff for free after rebate and coupons. I've been doing it for a year now and its easy and fun. Check out www.Iheartriteaid.com for the deals details. Basically I got over $60.00 worth of stuff for about $7. The key is stack manufacture coupons with store coupons and sales and rebates.

I went to Walgreens across the street next. I got the Listerine for .50 each and the Scott mailers for .06 for 4 and finally the Got to Be styling products for $1 each or maybe less. I cannot find my rec't now. The styling products are normally $6.29 each. Check out iheartwags.com for additional details.

To do this you will need to get a Sunday paper for coupons(http://www.sassysupersaver.com/2009/05/sassy-fresno-bee-deal.html) and also print out online coupons. Coupons.com, smartsource.com are just a couple of sites for printables. Look at other blogs who actually break it down for you what you need to do. It's a rush to get some great deals and you will never have to pay full price for things again.

First post...Second try

I already wrote this out but forgot to save to it diapeared...haha...I am still learning. I've been wanting to blog for some time now and here I go. My plan is to let all of you know about how I shop at certain stores to get free or almost free stuff every week. This allows me to save money so that we can have no debt in our household and are able to donate more as well. We are big fans of Dave Ramsey, who is a financial king. He has taught us so much. I learned most of my tips from him as well as other bloggers. I am just going to take it day by day and see how it goes. Some of my favorite blogs are www.sassysupersaver.com, www.moneysavingmom.com and www.dealseekingmom.com. Check them out.
